Meet Middy

The sweetest little shadow you’ll ever love.

Middy’s Story
Middy grew up at a quiet resort in Mexico, where kind visitors made sure she always had food, gentle attention, and a safe place to nap. She’s not your typical street cat — she learned early on that humans can be friends, even if she prefers to observe them before jumping in. Middy is now ready for a real home where she can trade resort life for a forever family that loves her back.

About Middy
Middy is a 6-month-old sweetheart with striking green eyes and a tiny white patch on her chest. She’s naturally a little skittish, but once she decides you’re trustworthy, she warms up beautifully. She loves soft pets, slow approaches, and feeling safe in her space. Being held is still a work in progress — she’ll get there with patience and love.
She’s the perfect match for someone who enjoys earning an animal’s trust and watching their personality blossom day by day.

Meet Minnie

The Soft Skittish Explorer

Minnie’s Story
Minnie is the little mystery of the house — the kind of cat who peeks around corners, studies you for a second, and then slowly decides you’re safe. She’s sweet, gentle, and curious, but she takes life at her pace. Once she trusts you, she melts into pets and stretches her paws out to “grab” your hand like she’s claiming you as hers. She’s not bonded to Middy, but she watches everything she does, and she’s learning that humans can be a good thing.

About Minnie
Minnie is a shy but affectionate young tabby who just needs a calm, patient home to fully come out of her shell. She loves cozy hiding spots — under the couch, tucked under a blanket, or anywhere she can feel safe while still keeping an eye on things. She’s playful, has a lot of energy, and she’ll smirk at you with those wide, bright eyes while reaching out with her paws (her nails are sharp, so gentle families only!).
She’s getting more confident every day and will thrive with someone who understands that trust takes time… but once it clicks, she’s all heart.

Meet Maximus

The Chill Adventurer with a Big Heart

Max's Story
Max is the kind of cat who feels like an old soul in a young body. He showed up with the calm confidence of a seasoned traveler, quickly making it clear he enjoys life on his terms — soft beds, nighttime adventures, and good company. He may wander like a little explorer, but he always circles back for affection, snacks, and a moment of connection. Max is the perfect blend of independent and social — a cool, collected companion who still loves being part of a home.

About Max
Max is a 2–3-year-old neutered male with a relaxed temperament and a surprisingly playful side. He loves interacting with humans, talking when he wants food, and gently nibbling when he’s in full play mode. He gets along wonderfully with other cats and warms up to new people faster than you’d expect for a street-smart boy. He’s fine being picked up briefly, enjoys indoor comforts, and also confidently roams outdoors, often returning from “night missions” with a satisfied look that says he had a good time.
Max would thrive in a home that appreciates a cat with personality — affectionate but not needy, adventurous but loyal, playful but gentle. He's a foster now, but he deserves a forever family who will love his unique mix of charm and independence.

Meet Mischief

The quiet observer with a curious heart

Mischief's Story
Mischief appeared quietly in the resort, watching from a distance long before he ever stepped close. While other cats rushed in, he chose to observe first — learning the rhythms of the place, the people, and which moments felt safe.
Over time, he began to linger nearby, rubbing gently against legs and settling into familiar spots to rest. Mischief isn’t in a hurry, and he doesn’t pretend to be something he’s not. He’s learning, day by day, that humans can be trusted — and when he does, it’s on his own thoughtful terms. He’s navigating the world with calm curiosity, and he’s ready for a home that understands patience, respect, and the beauty of earning trust.

About Mischief
Mischief is a young black male cat, likely around the same age as Middy, with a sleek coat and a naturally cautious demeanor. He’s more shy than curious at first and prefers to keep a little distance — but once he feels safe, he shows affection in subtle, meaningful ways.
He’ll rub against your legs, rest nearby, and quietly include himself in your space, even if he’s not ready for petting just yet. He’s not aggressive at all — when startled, he may hiss as a boundary, but he’s never violent and always chooses retreat over confrontation.Mischief has lower energy and enjoys sleeping, eating well, and calmly navigating the resort. He may do well as an indoor cat with the right, patient transition and a home that lets him adjust at his own pace.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What is Foreverhomes.mx?
A: Foreverhomes.mx is a small, volunteer-run project in Cabo San Lucas helping friendly street cats and dogs find loving, permanent homes. These are animals that have found their way to us in a local resort community, and we’re doing our best to give them a second chance.
Q: Where are the animals located?
A: All of our animals are currently in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, living in and around a local resort community. They spend time safely inside the resort area and typically sleep and eat outside.
Q: Can I adopt if I don’t live in Cabo?
A: Yes, in many cases. Right now we primarily place animals from Cabo, but we can help adopters who want to bring a pet to the U.S. as long as they’re willing to handle the vet visits and travel requirements.
Q: Do you offer transportation for adopted animals?
A: We don’t directly provide transportation yet. However, we can connect you with transportation options and help you understand what’s required. As donations grow, our goal is to eventually offer more direct transport support.
Q: Is there an adoption fee?
A: There is no adoption fee. We only charge a $25 application fee, which helps us keep the cats and dogs fed, healthy, and as comfortable as possible while we search for their forever homes.
Q: What does the $25 application fee cover?
A: The application fee helps pay for daily food, basic care, and ongoing needs like flea treatment and general wellbeing. Every dollar goes straight back into caring for the animals currently in our care.
Q: Are the animals spayed/neutered and vaccinated?
A: At this time, most animals are not yet spayed/neutered or fully vaccinated. We can connect adopters to a local vet who offers us discounted rates, and we ask adopters to cover these costs for now. As donations increase, our goal is to fund spay/neuter and vaccines before adoption whenever possible.
Q: Can you help set up vet appointments?
A: Yes. We’re happy to help schedule vet appointments and connect you with the clinic that gives us a discount. We’ll guide you through what each animal needs so you’re not doing it alone.
Q: Are these animals safe to bring into the United States?
A: Yes, they can be safe to bring into the U.S., but they must see a veterinarian first. They’ll need proper vaccinations, paperwork, and a health check to meet travel and import requirements. We’ll help you understand the process and set up the needed vet visits.
Q: What is the adoption process like?
A: The process is simple: fill out a short application, pay the $25 application fee, and we’ll review your information. If it’s a good fit, we’ll arrange a meet-and-greet (in person or virtual), discuss any vet/travel needs, and support you through bringing your new family member home.
Q: Do you offer trial periods or foster-to-adopt?
A: Yes. Trial periods are welcome, and foster-to-adopt is available. We know it can take time for an animal to settle in, and we want both you and the animal to feel like it’s truly the right match.
Q: Who pays for spay/neuter and vaccines?
A: Right now, we ask adopters to cover the cost of spay/neuter and vaccinations. We’ll connect you to our trusted vet who offers us discounted rates. In the future, as donations grow, our goal is to cover or heavily subsidize these costs.
Q: How are the animals cared for while they wait for homes?
A: The animals are cared for in a local Cabo resort community. They’re fed daily, monitored, and given as much love, attention, and basic medical care as our resources allow. Many of them have already formed sweet bonds with the people who look after them.
Q: How can I donate or help if I can’t adopt?
A: Donations are a huge help. We currently accept PayPal, Venmo, and Zelle, as well as in-kind donations like pet food and 5-gallon water jugs. Your support directly improves the lives of the cats and dogs in our care.
Q: What payment methods do you accept for donations?
A: We accept PayPal, Venmo, and Zelle for financial donations. If you’re local, we can also accept physical donations like food and water jugs.
Q: In what language is the website and communication?
A: Our site and primary communication are in English. However, most modern browsers offer built-in translation, so visitors can easily view the site in their preferred language.
Q: Why do you focus on these specific animals?
A: These are the animals that find us—often friendly, abandoned, or born on the property. They’ve chosen this resort community as their safe place, and we feel responsible for helping them find the secure, loving homes they deserve.
Q: How do we contact you?
A: You can reach us by filling out the contact form, or by emailing, or using any of the social media contact buttons in the footer of our website.
